Thoughts On...

Quantum of Solace - As a direct continuation of "Casino Royale," I quite liked it. However, I don't think it works nearly as well as a stand alone movie as it does the second part of its predecessor. Without the first movie firmly entrenched in one's mind, it'd be easy to have no clue what was going on in QoS. Also, it tried being a little more Bourne and a little less Bond. Unfortunately, the Bourne flicks do a better job at that, and I think next time perhaps Bond shouldn't have nearly as much quick-cut editing. Still, I dug it and would recommend it to anyone who liked "Casino Royale" - but only after rewatching that flick and keeping its details in the forefront of one's mind.

Mommesin Beaujolais Nouveau '08 - Light, fruity, slightly more tannins and a bit more acidic than I was expecting. I wish it were slightly smoother, but still, for a Nouveau, it does what it's supposed to do.

Twilight Phenomenon - Holy effing balls. The theater was packed with prepubescent teenage girls when I went to check out QoS. I haven't seen a reaction to a flick like this unless it was named Star Wars or Harry Potter. Geeze laweeze. It was frightening and now I see what it is like to be on the other side of fandom. However, I think a bunch of teenage girls might be less frightening than a bunch of adult basement dwellers. Creepy.
