  • Read some works-in-progress of two friends. Very nice stuff. If these ladies keep working on them at this level, there's going to be some quality reading coming soon to a book store near you.

  • My own work, Hero's Quest, is about to be started upon again. Enough time has passed since I lost the 100 pages that I lost when my computer crashed two months ago. I'm itching to begin work on it again. I want a first draft done by the end of the year.

  • I've been feeling better, for the most part.

  • This last week's Clone Wars episode, "Duel of the Droids," was considerably better than the previous weeks entry. In fact, I'd place it as my number two right behind "Shadow of Malevolence." But...there's just something lacking so far in this cartoon. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's good...but at the same time, there hasn't really been anything to make it "must see TV" (to borrow an old slogan).

There's a Star Wars TV show?

Apparently. No one watches it as near as I can tell.

I enjoyed the first few episodes, but it never grabbed me. I guess I like my SW to be a cinematic event. It's not bad on the small screen, but it's like eating steak at a McDonald's ... The two just don't really work together.

As much as I hate to say it, I think it's going to be something that works better on DVD where you can watch as much or as little as you want in one sitting. It's good, but just forgettable enough that you don't remember that it's on until a couple of days have passed. "Oh yeah, I guess I missed the new Clone Wars."
